The controller will manage accounting departments providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities that will assist management and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company’s future.

Position Type

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Extended hours of work may be required as job duties demand.


The controller will:

  • Oversee the activities of the corporate accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, monthly cash flow statements, and annual audits.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the company's value.
  • Respond to CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate his or her financial needs.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Ensure that company financial reports are prepared in compliance with policies and directives and U.S. GAAP.
  • Ensure that the accounting department personnel are capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities, noted above. Responsible for the continued development of these associates.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, auditors, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is responsible for managing the accounting department including all accountants, department managers, and clerical staff.

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.


This position requires minimal travel in most cases but no more than 10% if needed.

Minimum Qualifications

The controller must have:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or associate's degree with similar experience.
  • Three to five years of experience in an equivalent position.
  • A CPA certification (preferred).
  • A master's degree (preferred).
