QHSE Data Processor

The QHSE data processor's primary responsibility is to assist with office-based responsibilities and projects within the QHSE department.

Position Type

This is a full-time position with a typical work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Functions

The QHSE data processor will:

  • Plan and schedule meetings and appointments; organize and maintain paper and electronic files; conduct research; and disseminate information by using the telephone, mail services, websites, and email.
  • Utilize the computer to complete assigned tasks, such as creating spreadsheets, business-review presentations, QHSE reports, and other QHSE documents.
  • Use a variety of office equipment, such as fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, video conferencing, and telephone systems.
  • Assist in trend analyses of accident, incident, and non-conformance data to identify recurring causes for reporting purposes.
  • Attend, when appropriate and/or as directed, meetings sponsored by the company regarding QHSE-related items/issues.
  • Work with other QHSE department personnel to provide documentation assistance to enforce a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Be responsible for gathering key performance indicator data from the vessels, when required, and formulating reports summarizing the vessel's participation in QHSE-related programs.
  • Assist with creation of QHSE-related news bulletins, external bulletins and circulars.
  • Promote interest and participation in QHSE initiatives and activities through the creation of QHSE documentation.
  • Continue professional development by maintaining awareness of technological, managerial, and regulatory developments of QHSE-related areas.
  • Be responsible for maintaining QHSE-related documentation within the management system, as well as ensuring effective implementation/maintenance of the management system.
  • Be responsible for conducting drug/alcohol screens as directed.
  • Contribute to the QHSE activities/programs of organizations within the maritime industry.
  • Assist in creating year-end reports on QHSE statistics and develop QHSE campaigns based on the data acquired.
  • Promote the company's objectives and targets, in the areas of quality, health, safety, environmental, and energy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

The work environment is predominantly indoor with occasional outdoor/offshore work required. Work can be performed in a variety of environmental conditions while completing assessments in the field and on board vessels.

Required Education and Experience

  • High-school diploma or equivalent
  • Software knowledge (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Keynote, Google Gmail/Calendar)

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Related degree/certification preferred
  • Some light clerical training
  • Like industry experience or training may substitute for education/qualification

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with computer programs utilized to create presentations, policies, and reports
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
