Truck Driver

Interviews will be completed virtually with selected candidates via Google Meet or Zoom.

The truck driver will safely and efficiently deliver finished goods, products, and materials to work sites in a timely and professional manner. Scheduled workdays cover Monday through Friday. The truck driver will work weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

The truck driver will:

  • Operate a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
  • Transport loads safely and in a timely manner over required the route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
  • Deftly maneuver the truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas, following loading-crew signals.
  • Assist with the loading or unloading of goods and materials using specialized equipment when warranted, unload empty skids, and return all equipment to designated area.
  • Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork and deliver documentation to the shipping office or other appropriate staff when the delivery route is complete.
  • Facilitate routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air , reporting any maintenance malfunctions to the shipping supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The truck driver has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Skills/Abilities

The truck driver must have:

  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with staff at delivery points.
  • The ability to remain focused in a busy environment.

Education and Experience

The truck driver must:

  • Hold the required commercial driver's license appropriate for the weight of the vehicle to be operated.
  • Pass a background check and drug test as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.

Physical Requirements

The truck driver:

  • Will be subjected to prolonged periods of sitting in a trailer cab.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to travel frequently.
  • Will be subjected to both internal and external environmental conditions.
