Edison Chouest Offshore Touts Job Opportunities, Prosperous Future with New and Existing Projects

CUT OFF, LA, February 16, 2022 — The Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) global family of companies is announcing exciting career opportunities on the horizon for a multitude of projects across various markets from renewable energy to traditional offshore marine, fabrication, and shipbuilding.

ECO, which began in 1960, has long since had a great contractual backlog by following robust principles of organization and business within a famously family-oriented environment. ECO is now creating generational longevity by renewing its fleet with the highest standards and latest green technologies, reducing its carbon footprint both on and offshore, and expanding into emerging sectors such as the offshore renewables industry and the riverboat cruise business. Whether in energy, military, or other commercial markets, Edison Chouest Offshore is securing a foundation across the entire maritime industry and is calling on anyone interested in a fulfilling, enjoyable, family-oriented, and safety-focused career. ECO is one of the only companies that designs, engineers, constructs and operates its own vessels, focused on the highest quality, comfort and capability. ECO is calling on all dedicated and career-focused individuals, including more traditionally underrepresented groups, to join its team for an exciting career in management, engineering, vessel marine crews, and other opportunities.

ECO's world-class shipyards, including LaShip in Houma, LA, North American Shipbuilding in Larose, LA, Gulf Ship in Gulfport, MS, and Tampa Ship in Tampa Bay, FL, are currently undergoing several newbuild projects with the construction of its first river cruise vessel, a series of offshore terminal tugs, and a service operations vessel (SOV) for the offshore wind industry.

Construction is fully underway on the ECO EDISON, which is the first-ever U.S.-flagged, Jones Act-compliant SOV for Ørsted and Eversource. Engineered, constructed, and soon-to-be operated by ECO, the SOV will support the offshore wind industry in the northeast United States. The VIKING MISSISSIPPI – with an anticipated delivery this May – will take its maiden voyage sailing between New Orleans, LA, and St. Paul, MN. In addition, the two Damen ASD tugs – with a delivery slated for August 2022 – will provide escort, hold-back, hose-handling, and maintenance duties in offshore Guyana.

Being a very forward-looking and sustainable organization, Edison Chouest Offshore is currently going through a fleet renewal and technological upgrade. By selling older but still-highly-capable vessels in the fleet, ECO is transitioning into the next generation of the company with state-of-the art vessels designed for job-specific tasks, fuel efficiency, and operational excellence.

ECO is looking for people throughout the United States from trained, experienced workers in all fields to young mariners and students. There's a place for everyone at Edison Chouest Offshore. Visit www.chouest.com/jobs to view ECO's latest career opportunities.
